Artist's Description

These are reputedly the oldest remaining buildings on the High Street of Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland.

The two Crow Stepped tenements (No 38, 40, 42 and 44 on the right, No 46 and 48 on the left) are collectively called Hamiltons’ Land after the Hamiltons of Pardovan and Humbie who built them.

We lived in one of these houses for a short period many years ago, before I was 2. It was not such a nice place to live in then, but they have been restored, upgraded inside and are now Listed buildings.

Numbers 38-44 (even numbers) are Category A Listed Buildings (HB Number 37438).

Numbers 46-48 (even numbers) are Category A Listed Buildings (HB Number 37439).

Incidently, Linlithgow is the town where I was born. I lived there until I married.

Camera: Canon EOS 450D (Digital Rebel XSi in the USA)
Lens: Canon 18-55mm IS
