The Star and Garter Hotel Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland.

Built in about 1759, the Star and Garter a former Coach House, is a large imposing Georgian style building, steeped in history, dating back to the mid eighteenth century. The hotel is located at the east end of Linlithgow at number 1 High Street adjacent to the railway station.

    fabulous image Tom. No doubt some of my ancestors frequented this ??

  • Linlithgow is (now) a reasonable sized town, but when I was growing up there, it was much smaller, however, it has always had a large number of pubs, so I think it is more than likely that your ancestors would have frequented several of the pubs in the town.

    Another interesting architectural capture. I love the red sign, flowers and glow from the door! Gives it such contrast!
