The two Forth Bridges spanning the river Forth in Scotland. The Rail Bridge is on the right and the Road Bridge on the left.
The Rail Bridge was opened in 1890 and looks set to continue for another hundred years or so. The Road Bridge was opened in 1964 and it has so many problems that a new bridge crossing will be built just to the west of the present Road Bridge. Preperation work for the new bridge has already began and it hoped that the new bridge will be in operation by 2016.
