Buildings of all sorts are crammed into every small space in the town of Firá, the capitol of Santorini, Greece.
Firá sits on top of, and hangs precariously at the edge of, steep cliffs, 300 m (984 ft) above the level of the sea. “Firá”, is actually a different pronunciation of “Thíra”, the ancient name of the island itself.
