Moored alongside the Calle Dietro Ai Magazzini (Italian: Street behind the warehouses), an extension of the Port of Venice, Italy are (on the left), Club Med 2, one of the largest sailing cruise ships in the world. Powered by two diesel-electric engines and seven computer-operated sails on five masts.
On the right is the Royal Clipper, the largest square-rigged ship in service. Used as a cruise ship, her design was based on Preussen, a famous German five-mast Flying P-Liner windjammer built in 1902.
The whole of Venice and its Lagoon is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
