Saturday 16th March 2013. We had just driven up from a wonderful weeks holiday in Coniston in the English Lake District and stopped off at our friends house to pick up our car which we had left on their driveway in Coalburn village, South Lanarkshire, Scotland.
The snow started just an hour before, as we drove up the M74 motorway. By the time we reached Coalburn, giant snowflakes, 3 or 4 inches across were coming down and driving conditions were treacherous. This shot is from our friend’s front door.
