Located in the centre of Firá, on the beautiful Greek Island of Santorini, the Orthodox Cathedral (also known as the Church of Ypapantis), was built in 1827 but destroyed during the earthquake of 1956. The present Cathedral was rebuilt soon after. The church has beautiful frescoes that were painted by Christoforos Asimis (a local artist).
The metal statues of sitting men (the Observers) are the work of the sculptor, Yorgos Kypris.
