The Avon Viaduct
The Avon Viaduct crosses the River Avon just outside Linlithgow Bridge, West Lothian Scotland.
Linlithgow Bridge is dominated by this Viaduct which was constructed in 1840 to carry the main Edinburgh to Glasgow railway line across the valley of the River Avon to Linlithgow, which it still does today.
The viaduct has 23 arches, a maximum height of 85 ft and is almost 900 feet long.

A great image Tom, the perspective, colours and quality are all spot on, we have a couple of River Avons down here in the Westcountry as well, excellent work again,
Regards, Rod.

Thank you so much Rod, much appreciated. Apparently, Avon is the most used name for rivers in the UK, there are quite a few of them …

I agree with Lois. I can’t even go out this time of year because it is so hot here in the desert. Even the critters hide here during the day. Excellent capture, love the perspective, and the colors! ( Or colours, as you would spell it, lol)
Tom Gomez replied
Thank you so much dear Barbara. It is about 20 C (68 F) right now, very pleasant. So nice to see you use the correct spelling for colour, we need to teach you Colonials how to use the English language correctly – hehehe

Sorry Tom but I’m going to keep this comment short & to the point. Sometimes I go on a bit but on this occassion I just want to simply say; ‘Superb’ Saves everyone a bit of time & time is short today!!
Tom Gomez replied
Cheers Robin, very much appreciated mate.
I have a couple of older shots of this Viaduct, one taken from the top of the Avon Aquaduct and a couple taken from the road at the other side of the Viaduct. I was not particularly happy with any of them, but I really like this shot as I feel it does the Viaduct justice …
