Edinburgh Castle dominates the city of Edinburgh like no other castle in Scotland, and Edinburgh Castle is unequalled in the whole of the British Isles. Over one thousand years of history sit on top of the famous Edinburgh rock.

Edinburgh Castle is a collection of buildings many of which are Historic Scotland Category A or B Listed Buildings. As an example, Edinburgh Castle Great Hall is Category A listed (HB Number 48220).

    Beautiful shot, HDR works so well with this scene, well done! Love the contrast of the shy against the cliff face. My girlfriend is Scottish so this shot reminds me that I need to get over and see her part of the world very soon and from all accounts Scotland is an amazing place to photograph so well and truely enough reason for a trip from Oz.
