The way across
The two Forth Bridges spanning the river Forth between South and North Queensferry in Scotland. The Rail Bridge is on the right and the Road Bridge on the left. The LPG Tanker Malvern is passing under the Forth Road Bridge as seen from South Queensferry.
The Rail Bridge was opened in 1890 and looks set to continue for another hundred years or so. The Road Bridge was opened in 1964 and looks like it will need to be replaced in the next 10 years or so.
The bridges are approximately 1.5 miles across.
This shot was taken with my new point and shoot camera, a Canon Digital IXUS 980 IS on Saturday 29th December 08.

wonderful shot ..whats the difference between firths and forths ?
Tom Gomez replied
Firth has several meanings in Scotland, but in this case it is a river estuary. The Forth in this case is the name of the river (the river Forth). The estuary is called the Firth of Forth.
