went to Oxfam last night as a volunteer with a buddy as we’re going to help mark the Trailwalker trail and you have to be briefed even though i’ve done it befroe. We both got parking tickets….thought we’d have good Karma from doing something nice?
Today got an 11am meeting to go over new clothing ranges, so been drawing madly last few days and started sewing yesterday trying to get some ideas going.
Last week we sold 3 paintings out of a gallery to one customer which was great. We’d been stuffing the paintings under the house and not doing anything with them as Michael objects to the huge commiossions they take but we have a brand new gallery on the Gold Coast the the owner is lovely and taking less than usual. She also bought a pile of my clothes so i think she’s great. You know, some of the galleries i used to deal with take 55%. It’s hard to take, isn’t it?
Our fridage broke down on a Friday night and we got a lovely repair man who came on the Saturday…he walked into the house and said “I know these paintings!” and then proceded to tell me he has my prints & placemats and see the stuff everywhere and loves it, it makes him feel happy which is exactly what it’s all about. It makes me feel good to paint what i do…i do it to make me feel good and i guess it comes thru. I was almost in tears.
Have to make some thins to make me feel good today to counteract the parking ticket blues. They’ve really gone up since i last had one. Used to be $25! This one is $90. Wow.
