irish peacock
Freehand scrimshaw on ten thousand year old mammoth tusk, using Higgins fade proof ink. This is the first in a series of one of a kind art pieces. It stands on ivory feet, and is 3 inches wide by 5 inches high,My intent is to complete a set of the known Irish butterflies using scrimshaw, Some will be wearable and others will be on Ivory stands. Please see my journal entry on scrimshaw technique it will give you insight into how it is done. If you have any question please bubble mail me.
