The Burghers of Calais by Auguste Rodin in the gardens of the Rodin Museum. Commissioned by the town of Calais, it was begun in 1884 and installed in 1889.
On a personal note. I continue to try to photograph Rodin’s work and find that it is terrible difficult. His work is so direct and visceral. Very hard to sort that out in a print without it becomiung nearly a cartoon.
