Night Fisher

Through all recorded memory folks have fished the rivers here at night for their large catfish. On summer nights the dancing lights of their fires and lanterns carry sounds and voices across still waters by a magic that does not survive the daylight. The “Night Fisher” here is one of many who try their luck about the deep waters of the James River near Big Island as it wends its way on towards Richmond and the sea.
