You know what I like about this? I like that you can’t clearly read the names of the stores. I like the view of people going about their lives, doing everyday things on an typical day in an atypical world. There’s even a bit of wear and tear in what surely is an area that’s seen a heck of a lot of change. Again, wonderful piece Tom.

Hey Tom, I always enjoyed your “slice of Americana.” This is no exception, as it is a wonderful painting. Glad to see you posting again.

I’m realizing that America’s showing her age. But charmingly so. Our downtown’s are laced with caves that used to be shops, flaking window sills, and streets that have been surgically augmented by the DPW maybe one or two times too often.
And yet… yet… you can still see the youthful ambition, hope, and beauty between the wrinkles Thomas… Yes… YOU can see it, and have shown it to us here. Thanks….

Funny that I feel as if I can step into this one even more than your others which have stronger realism. The feel of the place comes across very clearly, I think. I love it.
