The Holocaust A last journal entry

I shall pray before we meet
For my belief is this is my last journal entry
I have heard i was part of the “Final Solution”
I have ran through mountains
And slept on damp ground
My children are starving for mere portions
I pray to the heavens now
But still no answer
Cruelty defines 1942 Germany
The rain washes away death in the streets
The smell of burning flesh surrounds me
But still no answer
Knees red from praying
Now I am saying
There is no god
There is no higher power and i will die alone
No streets of gold, Nor a Kingdom or throne
The knocking gets louder
My pin runs out of ink
I scramble to my feet
Before the shots
I start praying
To a god that announces
You are dead to me
