River Bank Swans Nature Pictures for Sale
This photograph was a bit of a departure for me. I don’t usually take wildlife photographs. A friend had visited Luxembourg from England. I took her out to Remich, a small town on the Luxembourg boarder with Germany. Much of the boarder is made up of the river Moselle. Swans live wild there, amongst the other river life.
This photograph was about capturing a sense of movement. I wanted to grab the crisp ripples within the water. I wanted to shoot the energy in the necks of the swans, as they dip, stretch and bend for food.
I also wanted to capture, intense rich colours. I love the dark, heavy blue of the water. This contrasts well with the warm late afternoon light, basking upon the rugged rocks and white of the swans. The shimmer of light across the wet surface of the river bank gives the photograph energy and makes the image pop.
As mush as it was important to capture rich colours, it was also vital to photograph the white of the swan feathers. I wanted there to be pure, brilliant white that honestly reflects the breathtaking natural beauty of the swan. I also wanted to accurately capture the different tones of greys and browns across the body of the swans.
