No revolution sparkle
the dried up embers of enthusiasm
stick like shit to a blanket
chocking all reason
slaying imagination in its wake
Universities, once the hot bed of political unrest
now march to the tune of the fat cats
Training executives
to become corporate killers
Reality plays virtual
as the ghost of ideology
rattle down poll station corridors
whilst sofas
slowly suck the life force
from couch potato voyeurs
mesmerized by the black box
black hole
of all consuming consciousness
as they vote in their millions
to evict some previously unknown halfwit
from the BIG BROTHER HOUSE
All gloss and no content
yet were content
content to live in a country where 40,000 homeless people walk the streets
content to live in a country where 6,300 people take their own lives each year
content to live in a country where 6,00 women are raped
and over 850 people are murdered each year?
You still content?
Hear my disent
but just to make yer feel secure
or rattle your paranioa
just remember this
we are constantly being recorded by over 300 cameras per day

fantastic paradoxical use of content! i, too, am angered by the apathy and disgusted with the masses…and the fear of the black van no longer keeps me quiet. keep writing and getting out there!

wow tg this is intense – good rant, but unfortunately that rage is all too easily ignored its not sexy. I read somewhere that if you chuck a frog in water it wont notice if you turn up the heat until it boils. well the water surrounding western society is boiling now!!!! we have let that water get the better of us those unreality shows you speak of are a symptom, working in social services you get to see life through a warts and all lens but thats not the norm the unreality of big brother is the new reality – does that make sense lol…. c xx

Escaping Reality is their drug of choice. Big Brother gives it away free at first. Find a friend in me, be what we want you to be. But no longer Free. It was drugs they used in the past. Now it’s Corporate thugs who control you ass.

Watch your blood pressure sweetheart, I was filling in someones form for them for their pension, and it stated ‘If English is not your first language, ask for help’. Why? Why are we paying pensions to someone who obviously hasn’t worked here because they don’t speak the language, and lets be honest if you cannot speak the language you cannot do much, you cannot understand orders. haha. Great insight into our political occurance, I could add a lot more to it. haha. hugsxxx

Well said. Democracy has stagnated and needs to evolve. Apathy seems to be the vote of the day. Well under 20% of voters belong to a political party, so it is no wonder that the minority rule.

but… where is the real soul of all these events?

but I understand your rage…
I have recited your poem in loud voice and raging mood…
