The last straw
Half of the world’s poor suffer from waterborne disease, and nearly 6,000 people – mainly children – die each day by consuming unsafe drinking water.
LifeStraw® water purifiers have been developed as a practical way of preventing disease and saving lives, as well as achieving the Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe water by the year 2015.
$5 buys a bottle of cheap wine or gives drinking water to a child for a year. Next time you drink – think!

Brilliant image TG and what a fantastic idea and worthy cause…your right, $5…it’s nothing but a cup of coffee to many yet a lifestraw would make such a difference;)
ToastedGhost replied
Yep I could have popped her in a Cappuccino but but you would’nt have seen her for froth! Seriously the price of a Coffee would make such a difference. Go thirsty one afternoon and save a life!

Good for you!!!
We use British Berkfield Water Filters so we can drink our own well water, have since California water issues – a dam constructed dropped our water table enough to contaminate the water with dangerous amounts of bacterias.

Tis true my mother who is in her 70’s has a water filter system attached to the domestic supply and you would not believe the amount of rubbish that those filters collect in a year. Yorkshire water in Bradford (UK) say the water is fine. Ha!
