Programmer's Blues

So here we are another year
Another project with sweat and tears
Will this be the one, the lode of gold?
Will this be our finest, our triumph bold?

My hand guides this mouse, a monotonous scene
How come I’m a captive of rodent so mean?
Yet there are days when Mickey and me
Share output with magic so brilliantly
And I say this with modesty, a mite understated
(The GUI that’s fooeey is quite unrelated!)

The day swiftly flies and my spirits run high
Then the damn rodent turns a malevolent eye
A programmer’s glitch that QA have missed
No it can’t be from me, it’s that rodent you see
It’s not to be trusted, it deserves to be busted
I’m thinking that Ratsack’s the answer for me!

So here I am broken and bowed at my screen
Whatever happened to my glorious dream?
Where I point and I click , so virtuously
And I hear no dissension, not even a mention
From quality prober’s and their interlopers
A programmer’s mind is but genius working
How can we stand those checkers lurking
Time to press on again and get mouse enthused
Ah, what a life, it’s my programmer’s Blues

I began my photographic hobby at the age of 12, developing and printing 120, 620 &35mm B&W, forever learning and refining the fascinating art of photography. Now at 78 I still continue with increased enjoyment using digital medium – and still learning.
My favourite places for photography are the Melbourne Zoos . These are the Melbourne Zoo , the Healesville Sanctuary and the Werribee Open Range Zoo.
