I began my photographic hobby at the age of 12, developing and printing 120, 620 &35mm B&W, forever learning and refining the fascinating art of photography. Now at 78 I still continue with increased enjoyment using digital medium – and still learning.
My favourite places for photography are the Melbourne Zoos . These are the Melbourne Zoo , the Healesville Sanctuary and the Werribee Open Range Zoo.

Thanks Eyal, how true about the highlights, a constant problem with the FZ20, hopefully a new camera for 2008 will fix the problem :-)

wow I think he’s been combing his hair. gorgeous shot

  • I think you are right Jenny his/her hair is quite well coiffured considering no brushes or even a comb! or are they the biggest eyebrows you ever saw ( needs a trim ) :-)

Wow, Tom! This is going in my favorites for sure! Gorgeous lighting and details! I’m envious of this one. We have a couple of these at my home zoo. They are so hard for me to shoot. They alternate these in the huge exhibit, and they are so elusive, or up on the pole so high I can’t even see them. Your shot makes me want to keep trying. This is SUPERB!!!

  • Thank you Lisa for your generous comments , I have a special spot for the Lion Tailed Macaque they have the most interesting expressions .
We are very fortunate in to have a top class Zoo in Melbourne that just recently rebuilt the Macaque section with large, clear glass which makes photographing them so much easier . :-)
