Shanina Conway
Hi Tom, he is beautiful and you’ve captured his majesty so well;)
Helene Kippert
Lovely shot!
Tom Newman
Thank you Helene, the shot was taken through a wire grille ( of course!) hand held and it was just after feed time for “Leo” thus his contented and regal countenance.
Tom Newman
Thank you for your comments Shanina, he does look great, you just want to pat him , but I think I will pass on that myself
thickblackoutline
he’s gorgeous! what a lovely soul, i like how you’ve captured the detail, and there are some nice shadows too
Tom Newman
THanks thickblackoutline :-)
Barb Leopold
I just love the big cats, respect and admire them. It’s a shame we need to keep some in zoos just to make sure they can survive ….. well captured Tom!
Tom Newman
Thanks barbie :-) It is very tragic to see beautiful creatures such as these living in a restricted environment. The Melbourne Zoo has provided an improved environment within their ability to do so. I cannot imagine how wild captive animals survived in small cages as they did when I was a boy and watched them frantically pace up and down in the Circus and the Zoo cages
Jeff Burns

wow I totally love lions, as you can tell by looking at my avatar. You know, my avatar is actually a mash up of my own face and a lions face edited in photoshop. If I had a chance, I would get a lion as a pet for sure!
Tom Newman replied
I have a small one, he is white called Fluffy and sleeps in front of the fire all day , ( a smaller version of course ) LoL
