Artist's Description

Seventh in the series, this shot was taken at Chaco Canyon, at the Kin Kletso Ruins.

Between 300 and 500 AD, the Hohokam (Anasazi descendants) constructed over a thousand miles of irrigation canals, some up to 50 feet wide and dug with massive organized labor, using stone tools. The Spanish conquistadors later named the Hohokam peoples, the Pima and Papago tribes.
