Honor the ability to ENDURE

The ‘medicine’ of ELK ( or wapiti in Shawnee) is stamina, endurance, strength and nobility. Few elk are ever loners or solitary, they congregate in large herds and reflect the need for companionship, support and community.

Majestic forest king with antlers high,
Mighty strength belongs to you.
Fill my mind with common sense
to do the things that I must do.
Lead me in paths of quiet calm
where I connect with other minds,
whose souls, like mine, yearn for the truth
and worship higher powers divine.
Where paths to spirit are unique
to every woman and each man,
and all respect each person’s way
of following an unvoiced plan. DJ Conway

Friends here in Victoria own a Wildlife Farm, ( Baringo Wild Life Park ) and they used to have a big Stag which was the main attraction with it monstrous antlers…
One weekend they went away for a trip.
When they got back, they found the stag wth it’s head cut off.
Someone had killed it for a trophy.
To this day, they have never found who did it….

  • tkrosevear replied

there were a couple of poachers at our preserve that I surprisingly shocked my husband by confronting and blatantly photographing their equipment, ammo and license plate, while I cussed ‘em out of course ;) xoxox

This is a wonderful animal series you are producing Tammy! Are you making some animal cards for reading? I have been working on mine using Egyptian symbology. It all takes time and I have decided not to hurry any more.Elk’s medicine is obviously teaching me how to make the best use of my energy, helping me to take on no more than I need to accomplish, and to persist on my chosen route until I have fulfilled my goals. I have learnt not to rush – just to pace yourself. I may not necessarily be the first to arrive, but I will arrive without being burnt out…...I hope. Thank you for your inspiring message this morning! I wish you a wonderful week full of inspiration, joy and wonder…..the rest will take care of itself! Sending you a hug across the seas…..........Sx

Tammy, I am delighted that you are doing a series on animals and their
symbolic and powerful influence on humans as spiritual guides or what
others refer to as our “power animals.” I have great respect for the animals that share our earth and the people who honor and protect them. Your wonderful art coupled with the informative narrative is a beautiful piece and I look forward to seeing more of your series on this fascinating subject. I have read Steven Farmer’s and Ted Andrews on the subject and like the Elk
that you portray, you will have the determination, durability and stamina to
stick with any project to its completion. The elk is fiercely independent and
prefers to rely on their strengths but also values being part of a group. Like
to handle an inordinate number of demands for their time and energy. Now,
I know that I need to call on the elk so I don’t feel overwhelmed. Like Sophie said pacing is important during the times we need extra strength which
    for me is NOW!! :))

  • tkrosevear replied

thanks so very much Julie, all life symbology helps influencing my actions, reactions and responses to daily goings on, appreciate your support and input alot ;) xoxox

  • Julie Marks

    Julie Marks

I meant to say, that elk, like Tammy needs extra strength to handle the
number of demands on your time and energy.
