Why is education so important?

Why is education so important? For us, the very, very select few who actually study social ecology and in depth, analytical political science, we’ve come across the scariest statistic for now and the future. Individuals in US, ages 22-110 (or death), only 23% have completed a 4 year degree or more. The Bachelors degree is considered the new high school diploma. This is calculated by advancement and progression. As we progress into the future, only 23% of individuals immediately have graduated “The New High School.” We wonder why Asia is becoming stronger and our jobs are going elsewhere. Our jobs are taken by other because they are qualified. Yes in some areas they do it for less, but overall, they are the ones qualified and working hard to achieve their self actualization. We’re in trouble because the internet generation starts to blossom, fewer kids are attending school because of the recently developed shortening attention span. The same attention span reality television and internet gaming has captured.

I actually have a hard time going to sleep at night because all I want to do is change this. We can have both, but first we have to get everyone away from the screen and off the streets and into the classroom. We complain about how poor people are getting and there are no jobs, well if we would finish what we started with our education, there wouldn’t be a problem, we would be actualized and we wouldn’t have to create jobs by warfare. We’d actually create peaceful technological jobs, just like in South Korea and Japan.
