This is the view over the back fence of our home in Sheffield. Rolling fields of pasture lead up to the spectacular Mount Roland. One of my favourite Tasmanian Mountains.Sheffield,Tasmania,AustraliaCanon 5D MkIIIZeiss 18mmLees ND Filters

This brings back great memories of the trip I had down there in 09 Mark. Loved Cradle Mountain of course. & after checking out Sheffield, headed out along Claude Rd with that awesome view of Mt Roland looming larger & larger. Happened across the Gowrie Park Wilderness Village, Gowrie Park of course in Wellington St. Being late in the day I decided we would see if we could get a spot there for our rented Winnebago & enjoy the sunset over Mt Roland. Rocked up to reception & got talking to the newish owners, A nice Family originally from the Hornsby area of Sydney. Whilst on a trip there, they too happened upon this place & found it for sale & felt a real affinity with the place. I don’t remember his sir name but his christian name is ,,,,,,, Roland. Nuf said, sorry about the lengthy post. I am so down there for next Fagus. Look forward to posts of this one. Cheers.
Many Thanks Ian……it is a wonderful part of Tassie. In cloud up here at Cradle at the moment and the weather forecast doesn’t look all that good for Fagus week. Take what we get and enjoy the challenge. Be great to have your company next year:o)
A super scene Mark, made so effective by being at the perfect time of day in co-operative conditions.I enjoyed the couple of hours we had together up at Cradle Mountain and am so grateful to you for taking me up there. The rest of the trip was just fabulous and St Columba’s Falls were absolutely stunning.RegardsPeter
OMG….what a sky!…great shot Mark..
