A Dream Walked Away From

Walking away
Is the hardest thing to do
Making that conscious decision
To leave it all behind
But there are times when
You are forced through
Will or the black-mail of your dreams
To leave your happiness behind.
Those are the times when
Your heart tells you That you truly could not
Live without that happiness
Your soul digs its roots
Deep into the heart
And wishes not to budge
But that force which
Is the conceiver of this trial
Continues to pull and
Eventually will overpower.
The whole trip back to normality
Is long and treacherous.
So, just as a family standing around
Waiting for their loved one
To return from a coma,
As is my love waiting for me
Until one day I return to the sea.
