Lightning Strikes the Isle of Wight

This super image was caught using a canon digital SLR on slow shutter speed as lightning lights up the ocean between Bournemouth and the Isle of Wight. Even at the tip of the lightning strike on the far right you can see the red glow as the lightning hits the ground.
This image is only available through here or my own website, stunning!

Hey Sticky, thanks kindly for your comment.Lightning images are fantastic to add to a portfolio, my mate says he wants an A2, I think an A3 is more appropriate, but i’m sure it’ll look fantastic in his wifes, nice house! lol

sweet use of long exposure time. We don’t get lightning storms here.

Wicked cool! Gutsy standing out there in a storm but worth the risk no?

  • Forest Friends... replied

It is all a matter of timing with thunderstorms, you have to be quick to get the lightning before it chucks down with torrential rain, one night, it was impulsive, thr storm started & it was a matter of running outdoors, getting to the beach & get it set up. I should’ve been in bed, glad I wasnt! lol
