Evan in it’s present state there is something inspiring about this boat. The last of it’s kind.a river thames lightship .it;s resting place grays essex next to the sailing club.
It’s falling to bits at a rapid pace been set on fire again since this was taken and has had it’s mast removed by the council….Was built in 1860 and was inservice for over 80 years before it was bought for use as a clubhouse at the thurrock yacht club opening in 1971

Awesome shot , love the history an cant believe its not being restored
they have tried to get money from the lottery years ago and were turned down, since then it has been set on fire twice and now the council have removed the mast….A piece if history slipping away.

It is such a shame to see a once beautiful boat rotting like this, but you have captured it beautifully for eternity. I love the sepia tones.
Fill like i have been watching the thames eat away at this boat over time, it’s a shame it could not have been saved.
