What in This darkness Can We See

What in this darkness can we see
Two forged as one on anvil spark
What lights the dreamland of the hour
As each curtains drawn to dim the dark
What worry folds are on your brow
That a kiss can’t melt away like snows
What journeys can your fingers trace
With tactile touch, that soothes and knows
The hiding place where the heart has withered
Unwatered, in the shadows from loves bright sun
But now it fluttered beats are re awakened and
In it’s gentle intimacy a silken a song is spun.

We carve with thought, and smile, the mystery
to sculpt a new dawn from this precious day
To embrace with arms it’s healing wonder
To kiss with gratitude as together lay.
The heart half full seeks fulfillment
To slake the thirst it needs to share
With honesty it gifts its vulnerability
For the lonely heart is hard to bare
Those who lack the courage, stutter
dress in pity’s grey sackcloth gown
for the heart’s trickle seeks an ocean
so that in a sea of love it can drown .

I love this work and in particular these lines. I hurt reading them because it is almost like being damned. You have taken a very deep dive here and I appreciate what it will incite in others like me. Beautiful work, really just unique and real.

  • Thanks foR your generous comment I left it vague for people to fill their own story just trying things at present

The yearning and vulnerability of this piece is tenderly beautiful pointing to a hope in the transformative power of love. Congratulations on your feature this week.
