Be with me now my Valentine

Do not take me lightly
or stir me up like tea
neither do ignore me
just quietly leave me be
tea is stirred to make it strong
and I am oh so weak
standing on the road alone
your presence now I seek.

Be with me now my valentine
to walk along our shore
and the shells that we collect
your mantle they’ll adore
The wild wild flowers
and grasses will colour
the life we share
if only you could see the love
and dream a dream to dare.

Be with me now my valentine
let your soft words fall like rain
to heal with their soothing balm
the scars of an empty pain
bring laughter back to visit me
and a reason to carry on
for all I see is darkness
since my valentine is gone.

I read again the last years card
count the xxxxxxx ‘s kisses sent
and cry out from a cold bed
since my valentine left and went
to walk without a purpose
or without a hand to hold
now the two of us are miserable
and our hearts are frosted cold.

I don’t know why we drifted
life without you is getting hard
so be again my valentine
Accept these xxx’s on my card
put love back in our centre’s
put skip back in my stride
Climb back upon my horse’s back
through the storms of life we’ll ride.

the perspective of this is so moving T, from the place of love and value and yearning for restoration. It is this plantive longing of tender vulnerabliity . . the authencity of this makes this more than an expected or typical Valentine’s write. So so beautifully gathered Tim.

  • thank you fiction and faction mingle

A gentle stroke on the surface of the heart where our scars still lie. This is a gentle piece Tim that certainly massages the hurt but does so in order to heal I think.

  • so nicely put what you think is good really I dont know just made up piece
