Luce che Espone

Her back lit by a liquid moon
her face a shadow on the wall
she tip toed to my bedroom
to answer my imagined call
her night dress an olive green
peeled from skin of lily white
invited me to quench the stars
shone between us on that night
I loved her quietness, her modesty
her shyness of how she looked
but her beauty reeled me in
like a speckled trout I was hooked,
The first kiss it was tentative
but it seemed good from the start
so she took the key from her locket
and I opened up her heart
she opened up my feelings
that lay dormant or had died
then the two of us embraced
and with happiness we cried.
