The Palace Theatre of Varieties by

Taken from an original late 19th century music hall playbill for the Palace Theatre of Varieties, ‘The Handsomest Music Hall in Europe’. It was originally built as a venue for opera by Richard D’Oyly Carte but only one opera – Arthur Sullivan’s Ivanhoe – was ever produced. The theatre was renamed the Palace Theatre in 1911, a name it retains to this day. The yellow surround and shadowing of the image behind are my additions. Created in Photoshop.

Beautiful work, you have done a great job here. My daughter has a passion for drama and has been in a few plays here in our town. She has a dream of pursuing it after year 11 and 12 of school at uni.I love watching her perform in plays and at eisteddfods.

  • Thank you so much! If your daughter has a passion for drama, you won’t be able to stop her from pursuing one or other aspect of it as a career. I’m an actress by profession and it’s a mighty tough choice. The only advice I would give has been standard for decades: make sure she has other skills up her sleeve to cope with unemployment! She might be interested in looking at my no-longer-updated site, Rogues & Vagabonds. http://www.roguesandvagabonds.co.uk
