The light and tones are spot on. It certainly reflects how I feel when I woke up from major surgery.
You might think about cropping down the top to lose that shelf.
Christian Hartung replied
yeah when you said that it made me look at the top shelve thanks for the positive comment, appreciated.

Excellent shot, I love ToTS work but I think leaving the shelf in gives a better sense of your Pops situation, I think it helps tell the story by saying “This man is in hospital”. The lighting is superb and whilst part of your Pops face is lost to the dark tones it probably improves the shot in a way for the rest of us. Great work mate.

This is a GREAT shot Christian…. the ONLY thing I would do myself is to try and open up slightly some detail on his face, only slight though. I think the lighting here REALLY suits the mood and the story. You have really captured this well. A shot that will last for ever.

This is excellent work Christian! I think the lighting is perfect for this shot,, the composition is excellent,, that top shelf must stay,,, it’s part of this story and you have captured that mood here,, the only thing I would suggest is to brighten up the light,, only a fraction on his darker eye,, to keep the shadow but define the eye,, otherwise excellent work,, hope your Pop is doing better also.
