i saw a guy on a train in tokyo with this odd slogan boldly slapped across his over-sized calico bag. it was just big black text, but it stuck with me (god i love japlish) and therefore i decided to give it a face. thankyou random tokyo funkster
*BELIEVE IT OR NOT – THIS TEE HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH SWINE FLU….IT WAS CREATED LONG BEFORE THE CURRENT EPIDEMIC…......(was said tokyo funkster in actual fact some kind of mystical disease prophet..?...) HOWEVER, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DENY THAT IT REPRESENTS IT PERFECTLY, AS MANY HAVE POINTED OUT TO ME!! so i have succumbed and entered it in the swine flu challenge….so give it a vote if you like it! thanks!

oh well that is a great little piece of info! i didnt know the lyrics, but it’s quite possible this is the case……and once again japlish has given us a beautiful and hilarious snippet. ...... this boy on the train could well have just liked radiohead ..and possibly got a little mixed up with the old phrase book…altho he wouldnt have needed to translate anything really… haha… i love it. an enigmatic and glorious conundrum. just like tokyo!

hey express…thanks for the comment! well i can hereby assure everyone this design had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with swine flu ….i made it 8 months ago after my trip to japan…inspired by all the wonderful JapLish… UNFORTUNATELY i have to acknowledge that this design is now going to be associated with the current epidemic … :( i must admit it saddens me a little as i really don’t like t-shirts that cash in on easy-targets… but then again i design something at a particular time for what it means to ME..then once i put it out there to the public it’s out of my hands and it’s up to them how they perceive it and if there are people out there that wanna celebrate swine flu on a tee who am i to stop them~! this was kinda long-winded wasnt it…. i guess i had a little too much coffee this morning ha ha… bottom line is – t-shirt NOT about swine flu…but i can’t deny the creepy association…! i mean there’s antibiotics and everything!!! argh!

thanks taylor…. it’s funny, this design was never meant to represent swine flue (in fact it was created long before it hit or was even heard of…SPOOKY!) but i can’t deny it really does represent it perfectly ha ha… so i have succumbed and entered the comp! ha ha ..cheers for the info!

haha i know…totally weirrrrd. i think the slogan originally (tokyo boy on train) was more than likely a mis-heard radiohead lyric as stuart says up top here! crazy how much it now represents S-flu! argh! at first i was kinda bummed coz it tarnished the randomness a bit… but what can u do…gota embrace it! haha
