While I was mesmerised by a swan putting on quite a performance grooming and preening about a foot away from me my friend was intrigued by the shapes formed by the water plants in Lake Wendouree, Ballarat. As she pointed out, they resembled Arabic script.

Looking for a title, good old Google came to the rescue and I found that the name of the Arabic script that we, from a Latin alphabet background, are probably most familiar with is called Naskhi

What do I photograph and why? Well, I photograph pretty much anything that catches my eye, anything I find visually appealing because, in my book, beauty nourishes the soul, it is necessary for life. Looking at beautiful art makes me happy. It’s as simple as that. I really hope you find something here among my photos that makes you happy to look at.
