My husband, Homer, found this beautiful Lunar Moth dead on our porch early one morning and brought it inside to show me. He decided to scan this elegant moth before it began to decay. I wanted to create a kind of moth abstract in honor of such an unsually beautiful creature. Using PhotoShop, I added a texture of a field of goldenrod, then enlarged the original scan and added two layers of the wings and blended. Found in Penrose, North Carolina, June, 2011.
