Cathedral
One of my favorite places to visit in the beautiful Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina is this grove of trees we call the “Cathedral.” The first time we found it, my husband and I realized we were whispering as if we had entered a church. There is something magical about this place. The silence is total and it seems to welcome us each time we visit. Whenever anyone asks us which church we attend, we glance at each other and tell them “The cathedral in the forest.” Even though the trees were planted by man, there is a sense of a special energy in the center of the grove.

Nice capture! I grew up near a grove much like this; it was nearly impossible not to feel a sense of reverence once you were within it. As you said, much like a church (but scented of pine and decay, lol!) A transcendant place, indeed.

Excellent perspective and great framing! I just keep holding the up/down arrows on the keyboard to watch the trees grow and shrink. Very entertaining, lol. This one is most definitely a favorite.
