A Call For Entries! "Bubble Video Number 1"

It appeals to me to make a video of Red Bubble artworks into a video to go on You Tube and other video sites to try and promote our bubbles.

I’d like to include works of other Bubblers here on Red Bubble to the video as well. Everyone who contributes some work will have their name / user name / location shown with their work.

The video will consist of our works with titles / credits, frame transitions and musical accompaniment.

Depending on the response I could make more videos later. Initially let’s say the first 20 people to post a comment to this journal entry will have 3 pieces go in the video.Work goes in the video in order of comment in the cue. (my 3 pieces first since I’m making the vid, k?)

No charge, no entry fee, no prizes, just permission to use your work in this manner and the hope of expanding our horizons. (..and a copy of the wmv file
for anyone who wants to pass it around)

What do you say? Shall we give it a go?

Sent Red Bubble support an inquiry e-mail. Will hear back from them on their constraints.
Worst case scenario will be we all have to choose art not posted to red bubble yet and no use of red bubble name or logo.
However URL is public domain and that will certainly be in the vid.

Profits from calendar sales will be divided evenly. ( I know it might not be much if any, but it’s a neat idea anyway) We will all get a copy of this grid with all the art in it and you can do what you want to with it as far as posting and selling it in your bubble.

Thank you very much for posting a comment. We just had someone drop out, so who knows. There could be someone else drop out, or someone not serious about participating and we have no choice but to drop them.

This to me, is exciting and has an element of fun, but it’s also a LOT of hard work! I want this to be primo! My approach is to view it as business. So, if there are some who drop out or don’t participate there will be a spot….and OF COURSE, I hope to make more in the future!

This is just to show who’s art is going in which square, and to help me keep things in the right folders in my computer.

When we all finish our Champagne art, it will go in the square and I will put only your username as it appears in your RB profile, watermarked small on the art.

In the video only your avatars as they are in your RB profile will show in the squares, no names or words, then the video will transition to each person showing their works, one work at a time, and All their info, i.e. username / name / state / country….and of course title of work being shown on screen.

I personally think your avatar is unique. It’s what people are used to, but whatever you choose to put as your avatar will be used.

I’m not real proud of my own avatar, but it’s what I’ve used for a lot of years online all over the place, so I guess I’ll stick with it. LOL

Besides, art is subjective. No matter what we do, some will like it some won’t. We just have to try and find a happy medium.

Anybody else that could offer an opinion to help Picketty please do so.

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

We lost another participant (Judith Oppenheimer).

Hope I didn’t make things too complicated by adding the champagne theme….just wanted to make things interesting and tie all the works together.The champagne art that you guys have submitted are all terrific, thanks so much for getting into the ‘spirit’ of things!

Anyway, there is one opening. If you’ve read this far, you know what we are looking for:
Your choice of 3 of your works from your bubble.

DEADLINE FOR WITHDRAWAL
OK, for the sake of protocol, we’re going to have to set a deadline for withdrawal.. Anyone who wants to opt out of this project must do so by comment or e-mail no later than Monday, April 7th, 2008, midnight, Central standard, United States time. This will include anyone who joins the project between now and then. Once I’ve begun compiling the works into a video, that will be considered performance of my promised duties, it will be too late to withdraw, and will be considered permission granted by prior comment or e-mail.

ARRANGEMENT OF PARTICIPANTS
In the event anyone else withdraws and no replacement is found in time, that person’s square will be removed from the grid and the project will be completed using a lesser number of participants, and each artist will then get more time per image on screen. However, we will loose the scope of broadcast for every withdrawer. (Pros and cons.)

DEADLINE FOR CHAMPAGNE THEMED ART
No later than Monday, April 7th, 2008, midnight, Central standard, United States time. Participants who do not submit a champagne themed art work will be eliminated and the square removed as described above.

MANY THANKS
A personal thanks to everyone who is sticking with me in this project. I know the above seems a little ‘stiff’, but it will help the structure and help the cohesion. Next video or project I will understand how to lay it all out at the start, so that there is no confusion as to what is intended to be accomplished.
