This was photographed with a Canon 7D using a Canon 100-400 mm. lens.
This was photographed near Plover, Wisconsin.
This was photographed at first light and is only possible for me because of the quality of the sensor and lens and the modern software to remove noise and yet maintain detail. Normally this would just get deleted but i love the tone that can only be gotten in this low of light and makes this a keeper to me as well as the action. This also makes this image as unique as the subjects. Fighting is common on the booming grounds.
You can find out more about these Prairie Chickens at http://www4.uwsp.edu/wildlife/pchicken/index.aspx. I also have videos on YouTube you can view. http://www.youtube.com/user/MrPhotographer101
I would also like to dedicate this image to one of my mentors described in my biography and that is Dave Nickels for whom his skills and knowledge of Photoshop and teaching me these skills this image would not be possible! Thank you Dave!
