a hawk floats
gently on
thermals
off Catskill cliffs
we’ve driven November
north in search
of color
only hinted at
nearer home
since summer was
too hot
too dry
too long
you
fall
asleep
slight smile on soft lips
gentle rhythm of breath
rising
falling
serene landscape
of such beauty
my heart floats
on each breath taking
I blush
and wonder
do you dream in color?
