Now this I know….
That building is to die for.
For those of you that don’t know about this place, the City Chambers are fitted out with Pink / Black Marble and White / Brown Alabaster.
It has to be seen to believed.
And the main upstairs Ballroom is just out of this world.

Looks like a foreboding October Glesga sky :) Talking of ballroom, I saw a man dance there years ago … but on the stairs, not in the ballroom. I was a student at the nearby College of Building and Printing, and was doing an interior architectural shot, using big PF60 flashbulbs. There were several flash units placed around the area, and my tutor was there, assisting. Unfortunately, he broke one of the cardinal rules for using flashbulbs: don’t insert the bulbs with bare hands. As he screwed in the last bulb, it fired – in his hand. Not sure if it was a Scottish reel or an Irish jig, but the dance was very entertaining! But for the fact that I never again used expendable flash, it would have been one of the best lessons he taught me :-D

Wow Linda this is fantastic. Ive seen many a photo of george Square, but this is on a different level. Its moody, atmospheric and adds a little bit of mystery to the place. The bird in the sky adds wonderfully to it too !
