The One in Review

There are times I lie awake
And listen as the night grieves
Over what the day has done; what could be undone?
In a way of world that mistakes slowly change
I’ve watched from window panes and let the light of sky
Sift away
And I’m caught up in the greatness of this
Playing with words, I reminisc
‘Cause I’d change every one if it won me one last kiss

With a breath of fire, I’d renew
This petty struggle spells short doom
Great minds would laugh
At this noose which reforms my red to blue
These clouds roll on, one hurry or not
I’m no ordinary man, yet perplexed, how easy is moving on?
These clouds roll on

To feel this power of rotation circulating my palm
To grip the world; move on, move on
To be like these clouds; they roll on, they roll on

And I ask myself; “What use is a phoenix caged?,
When flaming wings of passion are so easily contained?”
