My name is Lori and I am an award-winning, completely
self-taught photographer and digital artist. I have about 15
years of photo editing experience and many more in graphic arts…if you also count Preschool paste, saftey scissors, and big fat crayons. I have taken photos off and on for well over 20 years. I started with a Kodak Instamatic my mom gave to me when I was just a kid. Using my printed photos, markers and some construction paper I was able to create my own masterpieces to place on the fridge and adorn my bedroom walls. That seems so primitive in this day and age!
How the times have changed, but my passion for giving life to my ideas and seeing the world around me in different ways is still as strong as ever.
Today, I have put aside my beloved Fuji Finepix S5700 and am now using a Fuji Finepix HS30 EXR. I really like it and am having fun learning all that it has to offer. I love photo editing software and the artistic side of photography.
I find beauty in just about everything! A fallen leaf, a stunning sunset, the way the light and shadows play at just that right moment, or my children caught in a candid moment.
I don’t have a favorite subject in photography…okay fine I admit it, I ADORE Converse shoes and Dandelions! There, I said it LOL! Otherwise my overall style is
simple, but eclectic. Changing with my moods and whatever happens to catch my eye on any given day.
The inspiration for my digital art comes from so many places! It might come from a phrase in a song, a dream, a random thought, something in a conversation spoken or overheard, or part of what I see around me.
Of course my work is not limited to just photos and digital art. I also love making things that I come up with on a whim. It can be custom clothing, bead and wire wrapped vases,
whimsical jewelry, and even a wild idea for a new recipe. I am fortunate to have a vivid and fertile imagination.
There is never a dull moment in my head!
My artwork is just me…thinking out loud.
I hope you enjoy viewing my work as much as
I enjoy creating it!
