I’d rather not explain this one. Its a bit personal. Finally uploaded after working on it all night. Its now 7:35.

Linaji wrote this lovely piece inspired by it

Bending my will to crawl within
My own nature will not allow
For the regiment of poles and holes
And I breathe better under the sea
I know better above.
Quiet and killer instincts
Observing more the me in me
The me below speaks
The me above seeks
Witness to our constant desires
Witness to our holding back
I can do nothing
But highlight the way
Coming?

Very strong drawing and I think it just great. Not 100%, not 70% actually not sure at all what its about but having a few guesses and enjoying the stimulation. Great work love the top half particularly.

  • Thanks Phil. Alright then, here goes: I’m the one at the bottom in the dark. The rectangles are everyone else.

so all the square pegs are in their square holes and the curly tentacular sort of thing (that’s you?) is wriggling about, hiding in the grass being…different? tentacular? seems like a nightmare…but then you didn’t go to sleep….hhhmmm. are the square ones your employees? don’t think so…

  • The tentacles thing comes from an obsession with the number 8 and was some bit like my hair at the time. It wasn’t my intention to be tentacular (good word) but I did want to appear different. The square things represent people with the public sides of their personality above the water where thay can be seen and their private sides below. Some people are shallow and some are deep.
I think I’ve explained this one as far as I’ll ever do now. Thanks for your comment.

I hadn’t noticed ‘the creature’ when I clicked on the thumbnail.. the vertical pillars and ‘fence’ – now I know it’s water – attracted my attention. Now I see ‘the creature’ it reminds me of one of those spy robots in ‘Total Racall’. Beautifully drawn.

  • Great to hear it looks like water, I was struggling with that part. Thanks.
