I have always been interested in societies. Where they live, how they function. Microcosmic and macrocosmic relations between the unit mind, the human and the macrocosmic sphere.

In an urban framework, a nexus is that point where we can connect. We find a bridge, and cross over our differences. A point to share and pass by.

Photography interfaces in the nexus to build a bridge of communication, of ideas that let us express our inner worlds (thoughts, desires) more eloquently in an art form.

This is what the urban nexus is to me – the meeting and connecting that occurs at a spot, within the urban framework. This could work in suburban or rural nexii, but with different elements.

Today I find myself returned. Back to Melbourne, my birth city, where I lived my life for 18 years before studying in Southern NZ for two years. I then moved west to Perth, Western Australia, where I lived for about 7 years. Educating myself in so many ways. A tranquil city, and a respite for this urban soul now in Melbourne.

I graduated in 2003 from UWA with an MBBS. I was raised with an interest in eastern spiritual philosophy, and this permeates my worldview. Along with this is my fascination with the interpretation of the mind (at many levels).

I love travelling, technology and understanding how this unit mind can learn to connect beyond his own set and to reach out further, learn further. To cross those planes that many others think of.

Life is meant to be that type of a journey, I think. An internal journey. I want to hear and see your responses to my images – what you liked, what you want to change, how you would do it, what it means as it is, and what it means if we change it.

You, the viewer are the most important person in my education as an amateur photographer. Thank you for your time, and please pass by again :)

Motivations…
Started shooting to capture memories. Now I feel that photography has the power to recreate moments and feelings, not just act as a trigger.

As I shoot more, and meet new artists, and see their works… I find I learn more. Everyday is new learning. Thank you for that, and sharing a little of yourself.

Places my shots have been seen:
- Nikon Stunning Gallery
- Schmap Guides Inc: Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Perth
- Wikipedia article on Sikhism
- Wikipedia article on Shanghai
- NowPublic.com article on Diwali 2006
- ABC Radio Australia Vietnamese community site: Bay Vut (PBS again) on their stream of changing photos.
- let me know if there are any others!
