lifeless soul

The same claws gnaw
a cold cruel hand
wringing, freezing
my insides to a stone
useless tears
find an opening
Somewhere outside
a pack of dogs have found
a harmless victim
It cries out my agony
into the darkness
while dead stars stare
in muteless mockery
the pack dissolves
like thieves into the shadows
my soul lies crippled
bruised and lifeless

lifeless soul
