I love winter, so it’s a great excuse to paint a winter scene. This is a pure fabrication of my mind. . . a reminder of the winters I spent in northeast Iowa.

    Glad you like the painting. That’s so satisfying since this is one of those few paintings where I didn’t have a strongly defined idea or references for it. Was winging it on how to make the trees shimmer, etc. So thanks so much Selina. Have a fab weekend.

    The little log cabin in the woods, in a beautiful setting of winter’s wonderland. I have always loved the snow, and Currier and Ives art, in which this reminds me so much of.     Hey Nancy, It’s a high compliment. I grew up with very little to no art in my life, but we had these Currier and Ives winter scenes on placemats. I always admired them.
