Very sobering…deep and draws you in!
thepaintedsoul replied
Thanks Susan. I’m always tempted to take it on to a high-polish kind of look. But I resisted. : >) I know I’m wanting The Painted Soul images to be rough and textural.
Linda Callaghan

Very evocative, thoughtful work…so much happens at night that is secretive and you’ve conveyed this aspect of life perfectly…
thepaintedsoul replied
Appreciate your taking time to think about the images Janis. It’s so tempting to just move on., so it means a lot that you’ve offered thoughtful comments.
Janis Zroback
You’re very welcome…I like to take time to ponder on each, but I have limited time, so I commented on just a few, however I loved the whole collection…
thepaintedsoul replied
I sure understand. : >) Thanks

Reminds me of New Orleans…60’s or even a film noir sort of 40’s. Not the New Orleans I knew, but the colours the side street/alley look is there.
thepaintedsoul replied
Hey, thanks for dropping by. I was going for this grainy noir feel to it. Cheers!

Also, I’m reading a lot of James Lee Burke so I have New Orleans on the brain.
thepaintedsoul replied
Hmmm. . . I’m not familiar with this author, but I rarely have time to read these days. : >(
It’s a steamy miserable dark book?
redqueenself
Dark and Nasty Characters in these books…and the bad guys are worse. It quotes a Lousiana Congressman as saying on CNN that “that half of Louisiana is under water and the other half is under inditment.” I love that kinda talk. If given a choice between reading or breathing…I’ll read. I hold a book and read as a walk places.

then you would appreciate this quote. . . one of my favorite.

Love this one. Wow! Very expressive and I’d say even unusual. All the best in the PIMT challenge :-)
thepaintedsoul replied
Hey rightasrain,
Appreciate your stopping by. I was looking at the challenge and it’s g odd one, but it seems unlikely my work will cut it over there. : >D
Appreciate the comment. Cheers!
Lynda Robinson
Great colours and texture in this Michael. You’ve created an extremely mysterious mood with this painting. The lines of the street and the building leading the eye towards the light make a wonderful composition. Magic!
thepaintedsoul replied
Thanks my RB Buddy and chef extraordinaire! : >D
Thanks for the observation. . .I wondered if I’d set the value scale in range to have that effect. Hope the day has gone well. Cheers!
