A mothers grief is hard to take
You sit and feel your heart will break
It wont of course but you feel so low
Oh son of mine, why did you go.
I feel you’re with me here, right now
You try to ease my pain somehow
I pray each day that tou are fine
I love you precious son of mine.
Your brothers loved you very much
I hope you felt their tender touch
They grieve together for their brother
As much as me. your loving mother.
A mothers grief is full of why’s
I see your smile, I see your eyes
I feel you always in my heart
So we will never be apart.

My Dearest Pat,
I hope this will make you feel better my heart gos out to you, what a wonderful poem.
regards Kathryn.
I’M STILL HERE
I stood beside your bed last night
I came to have a peek
I could see that you were crying
You found it hard to sleep
I whispered to you softly
As you brushed away a tear
“It’s me, I haven’t left you,
I’m well, I’m fine, I’m here.”
I was close to you at breakfast
I watched you pour the tea
You were thinking of the many times
Your hands reached out to me
I was with you at my grave today
You tend it with such care
I want to reassure you
That I’m not lying there
I walked with you toward the house
As you fumbled for your key
I gently put my hand on you
I smiled and said “It’s me.”
You looked so very tired
And sank into a chair
I tried so hard to let you know
That I was standing there
It’s possible for me to be
So near you everyday
To say to you with certainty
“I never went away.”
You sat there very quietly
Then you smiled, I think you knew
In the stillness of that evening
I was very close to you.
The day is over…
I smile and watch you yawning
And say “Good night, God bless,
I’ll see you in the morning.”
And when the time is right
For you to cross the brief divide
I’ll rush across to greet you
And we’ll stand side by side
I have so many things to show you
There is so much for you to see
Be patient, live your journey out
And then come home to be with me

Dear Pat,
Your art and your writing reveal the precious sensitivity of your heart and soul. We must all be very thankful for the good that comes as a result of tragedy in our lives. In search of consolation you began sharing your art. Thereby, you have contributed so much to the rest of the world. I am sure he would have been so proud of you. May you and your family be comforted.

Dear Pat, my heart aches for you, my friend. The words you express I know can only show a small part of the tremendous pain that only a mother’s heart can feel at such a loss. I care for you, Pat.

Such hearfelt words Pat from within your soul my heart goes out to you for the loss of your son it is one of the worst things in life to happen …... to lose a child. Time is the healer in most cases but what I found was my grief came out in words similar to you and that made things just that bit better because you were writing about your loved one! Take Care – David :>))

These words came to me so easily during the week following the loss of my son. We have just passed 2 years without him…..I had never seen so many young men crying for the loss of their friend….it proved to me that it wasn’t only the family that loved him and somehow that helped…....xxx…..Pat
